Zaragoza: The sights

The rest of Zaragoza was cool. There were lots of ruins, and while none of them were as cool as the ones in Merida, I feel like the museums did a better job presenting them and explaining what exactly was done there as well as what life was like as not only a Roman, but a Roman in Spain. It got dark pretty quickly, and didn't make for good pictures, but was a beautiful city.

While we waited for things to open, we went to an AQUARIUM! It was super fun! There was lots of biology, and the aquarium was partly fun because the focus of the aquarium was fresh water rather than salt. So they had lots of fresh water pufferfish, a couple nile crocodiles, piranhas, soft shell tortoises, gars, some archer fish, cichlids and other exotic freshwater fish. The "shock and awe" tank was especially cool as it had dozens of pirarucu (the largest freshwater fish in the world). The whole aquarium was huge, and it wrapped around the pirarucu tank in such a way that every ten minutes or so we'd get a different view of it, before leaving it behind.

Also, I found a tortoise sitting in his own little pen in the corner. As I walked up, he started bolting closer to me, and dove into his food bin. It was kind of hard for him to get his head in there so he just dove right in, putting his feet on it to tip it up and bring all the food straight to his mouth. I think I found my spirit animal.
